Another day, another feud involving Donald Trump.
Senator Elizabeth Warren tore into the GOP front-runner on social media, calling him “a loser” with a terrible business track record.
“Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers—and Trump is a serious threat,” Warren wrote.
At a press conference, when asked about her criticism, Trump referred to Warren as “the Indian” before moving onto other issues, a dig at Warren’s claims of her Native American ancestry.
“I think it’s wonderful because the Indians can now partake in the future of the country. She’s got about as much Indian blood as I have,” Trump told Maureen Dowd over the weekend. “Her whole life was based on a fraud. She got into Harvard and all that because she said she was a minority.”
Warren claims to have 1/32 Cherokee ancestry, and when she was a tenured professor there, Harvard Law School touted her ancestry as evidence of staff diversity, according to the Washington Post. However, previous records from her time teaching at the University of Texas showed that Warren listed herself as “white,” the Boston Globe reports, and she has been criticized for inconsistency on the issue.
This week, Trump hit his highest average polling ever, according to Real Clear Politics, with the support of 40 percent of Republicans.
