A new picture from a NASA astronaut has speculated another round of UFO speculation.
Scott Kelly, currently on board the International Space Station, shared the snap via social media--and almost immediately users picked up on what appears to be an unidentified flying object in the corner of the picture.
The station orbits around Earth, and astronauts have increasingly shared pictures while stationed there.
“So this photo here everyone thought was a UFO. The little bright thing you see in the top right. It was thought to be a cigar shaped flying object. Well, all you have to do is put the photo in photoshop and turn up the brightness and you can see its part of the space station,” said one Facebook user.
Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku added to CBS that the image could just be a smudge.
“Eyewitness accounts are not enough, even a photograph could be a smudge. It could be a reflection off someone’s windshield, or it could be almost anything,” he said. “That’s why we want something tangible -- an alien chip, alien DNA -- then the debate is over.”
