Sandra Bullock may team up with Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey in a Michael Patrick King comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
There have been no comments yet from any of the actresses to confirm the report, which says the as yet unnamed Universal Pictures blockbuster will be written and directed by King.
The movie will be “set in and around the world of a Home Shopping-type network and follows the characters as they make their way through the maze of mania that surrounds marketing, marriages and the media,” the studio told the Hollywood Reporter.
King, expects to have the script ready by the new year, with production hoped to start in summer. He is humbled to be working with the three leading ladies, according to Collider.com.
“I put it in front of each of them and they all said yes,” King said. “To have access to these women, tell them this story and hear ‘Yes’ was almost like a Greek mythological journey, with me going from one goddess to the next.”
Bullock has enjoyed a successful year with her Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side and her role in 2009 comedy smash The Proposal. She was recently topped Forbes’ list as the world’s highest-paid actress, with an estimated income of around $56 million from June 2009 to June this year.
Streep is also on good form with her recent part in It’s Complicated. Winfrey’s last acting role was in the movie Beloved in 1998. The TV hostess has since voiced animations like The Princess and the Frog.
