SAN DIEGO—Authorities were investigating the death of Trevor Tice, founder of the growing CorePower Yoga franchise, who was found dead at his home in San Diego.
Police said they received a call Monday for a welfare check at a house in the city’s Sunset Cliffs neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found the 48-year-old Tice dead inside.

Homicide detectives were investigating “due to suspicious circumstances related to the death,” police said in a statement Tuesday. Officials did not give a cause of death.
Tice founded CorePower Yoga in Colorado in 2002 and oversaw its expansion into several states, the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper reported.
The company’s website says CorePower is the largest privately held chain of yoga studios in the country and operates more than 160 locations in nearly 100 cities nationwide.
“We are grieving the loss of our founder Trevor Tice,” the company said Wednesday on Twitter. “We honor his legacy & celebrate all he brought into our world.”
