A Florida assistant coach called Alabama coach Nick Saban “the devil himself,” according to reports.

Florida offensive line coach Tim Davis was speaking on Wednesday when he compared Saban, who we worked for, and Will Muschamp, the head coach of the Florida Gators.

“I’ve always wanted to work with Will,” Davis told GatorBait.com. “Will’s got a plan. Will coached under the devil himself for seven years. I only did three. He did seven. And his DNA is not any different than Nick.”

Davis also made another comparison between Muschamp and Saban.

“[Muschamp’s] like the other guy, only he’s got a personality,” he added. “He‘ll smile at you. He’ll talk to you. You understand? That’s what he’s all about. That’s Will. I’m proud to work for him.”

CBS Sports points out that Davis made the comments at a booster club and notes they should be taken into context. He was likely joking around when he made the statement.

Florida went 11-2 and played in the Sugar Bowl, while Alabama won a second BCS championship under Saban last season.
