Jets head coach Rex Ryan will stick with quarterback Mark Sanchez as the starter despite another sub-par performance on Monday night, according to a report on the team’s website.
“Yes, no question,” said Ryan when asked if Sanchez is still the starter.
“Well, I think when you look at it, last night I thought he played pretty good. I thought he was accurate with the football.”
With Sanchez’s 14-for-31 passing performance Monday night he became the first quarterback since 1999 to complete less than half of his attempts (minimum of 25 attempts) in four straight games.
For the season, Sanchez has a quarterback rating of 66.6 which ranks 31st out of 33 qualifiers.
Waiting in the wings of course is the popular Tim Tebow who played in just 39 offensive snaps in five games this season.
