Russell Johnson Dead: ‘Professor’ on Gilligan’s Island Was 89

Russell Johnson, the “Professor” on the Gilligan’s Island television show, has died.

Johnson was 89. Before dying, he was one of three remaining cast members from the popular series that was still alive.

Johnson died of kidney failure, his wife told ABC.

His wife said that he died “peaceful” in his sleep at 5:21 a.m.

His agent, Michael Eisenstadt, told the Wrap that Johnson died at his home in Washington state of natural causes.
