The funnel cloud was spotted just after 3 p.m. local time.
The National Weather Service says in an alert: “AT 304 PM CDT... TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS HAVE REPORTED FUNNEL CLOUDS WITH THIS STORM. A TORNADO MAY DEVELOP AT ANY TIME. THIS DANGEROUS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR ROSENBERG...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
ROSENBERG...RICHMOND...PECAN GROVE...FULSHEAR...CUMINGS AND
GREATWOOD.”
A tornado warning was issued for Fort Bend County in Texas, located south of Houston.
“A Tornado Warning remains in effect until 3:15 pm CDT For Central Fort Bend County. At 3:04 pm CDT, trained Weather spotters have reported funnel clouds with this storm. A tornado may develop at any time. This dangerous storm was located near Rosenberg, moving northeast at 20 mph. Locations impacted include: Rosenberg, Richmond, Pecan Grove, Fulshear, Cumings and Greatwood,” the National Weather Service also said in a warning.
