Robert Tebow was named as the suspect who jumped off the Belleair Causweway Bridge in Pinellas County, Fla., according to police.
It is unclear if he is related to quarterback Tim Tebow, who is from Florida and had a storied college career at the University of Florida.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office wrote that Robert Tebow, 34, “was located by members of the Violent Crimes Task Force this evening in South Pasadena, located in Florida.”
He was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
He was charged with fleeing and eluding, providing a false name to law enforcement, and driving with a suspended license. He apparently eluded police after a traffic stop on Tuesday night.
On Twitter, local station WFLA wrote: ”@SheriffPinellas arrest man who jumped off @Townofbelleair Causweway Bridge last night. Suspect name is Robert Tebow,” while other Twitter users speculated on the suspect’s name.
