Olly Murs, the English singer-songwriter, tweeted that his dog “Mollie” has died.
He tweeted a photo of the dog.
“Proper sad that our family dog Mollie passed away today! She was a strange little thing but loved her loads!” he wrote in the tweet.
After he posted the image, users tweeted “RIP Mollie” and a hashtag later trended.
“RIP Mollie <3 Olly will be so sad tho :( Makes me sad too :(" one person wrote on Twitter.
Added another, “Awww no Olls :'( So sorry to hear that :( She seemed like such a nice dog! :( RIP Mollie <3 xxx."
“Proper sad that our family dog Mollie passed away today! She was a strange little thing but loved her loads!” rip mollie,” wrote another.
A few days ago, Murs slammed the music industry, describing it as “snobby” after he lost the Ivor Novello award.
“There is a lot of snobbery in the industry in terms of someone coming from the X Factor but to be nominated for an Ivor Novello is a big statement for me and I’m so happy,” he told the Metro.
He added: “I [discovered] recently that the Beatles won an Ivor Novello. This is a huge event and a statement to show that people are taking me seriously as a songwrite.”
In 2010, Murs released his self-title debut, which went on to sell 600,000 copies and went Platinum twice in Britain.
