Ricky Martin, the famed pop star, has two children, both five years old.
Martin split from his wife years ago, but maintains a close relationship with his children.
In fact, he took them on tour with him this summer.
They love being on the road,” the 42-year-old singer told People magazine. “They’re very musical kids and they are little artists. They’re little mini-me’s!”
Though some people criticized his decision to take the kids on the road, Martin argued that they’re used to it.
“A lot of people say, ‘But Rick, kids, they need stability.’ I’m their stability. … They were born on the road, so they come with me everywhere and they like it. If they spend too much time in the same place, they go, ‘Dad, what’s next?’” he told Entertainment Tonight.
And he said that they have experienced a lot already.
“They’ve been to every museum in the world, they’ve been to every zoo in the world, so they’re having a good time,” he said.
As for whether one or both of the children will enter the entertainment business, Martin’s not sure.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, but whatever they choose and whatever they decide to become, I will be right there supporting them,” he added.
Martin also revealed that he’s thinking of adding a daughter to the family at some point.
Ricky has an estimated net worth of $60 million. He owns multiple homes, including a $5.9 million condominium in New York City that features 4 bedrooms, 4 and a half bathrooms, and a garden courtyard, among othe amenities.
Martin was thrust into the spotlight earlier this year after being sued for alleged plagiarism over stealing a song for the World Cup from a Puerto Rican artist.
El Nacional newspaper reported that Luis Adrian Cortes Ramos sued for $10 million.
“Ramos was surprised, disillusioned and suffered mental anguish because the song was almost identical to the one he composed. Until that moment, Martin was an idol for Ramos,” the lawsuit said.
