Revolution was canceled by NBC at the end of season 2 but fans of the show aren’t giving up without a fight.

A petition started by one is aimed at other television networks, requesting that one of them pick up the sci-fi program.

“Revolution is an amazing show that has sadly been cancelled by NBC. We are trying to get this series to continue on another network!” said Kaysi L in the description. Netflix, AMC, SyFy, and CW are among the networks named as targets.

The petition has already gotten over 30,000 signatures, perhaps showing that another network should give the program a chance.

Many people who signed the petition left comments while others left comments on a Facebook post by executive producer Jon Favreau, in which he recounted how he conveyed to Revolution creator Eric Kripke the effort to get another network to pick up the show.

“Having a show cancelled is not fun, as you can imagine. It’s a very abrupt end to a project that has been your entire world for a long time, especially for a dedicated writer/producer/show runner like Eric. I know he pours everything he has into his work,” Favreau said, noting that Kripke doesn’t use social media.

“I asked Eric if he had anything to pass along to the fans of the show. He said to convey that he was disappointed, but extremely grateful for your support.” There has been no word on any official effort to get another network to step in.

Fans expressed their support for the show and their strong wishes that it continue.

“I have watched Revolution from the start and would love for it to continue on a network that would appreciate it and support it in ways NBC did not. The cast is brilliant and so are the writers and crew would hate to see this show just go away without given it the proper ending it so justly deserves,” said fan Michelle Reeve.

“This seems like a perfect show for one of the side networks, SciFi, A&E… one of those. SciFi has a built in sort of market for it… TNT maybe? I would hate to see it go… even if it’s just long enough to finish the story. Good actors, interesting storyline… would have liked to see it play out,” said fan Annie Watson-Johnson.

“Hubby and I watched Revolution over here in London with many of our friends and we are all gutted to hear that the end is nigh. It would be so sad if there was no possibility of this show running at all as its got hundreds of us over here in the UK gripped. There is a massive fan base over here and the show will be sorely missed - please lets all fight for it to stay with us and let the story unfold! xx,” added Amanda Margrave.

Revolution started out pretty popular with 24.2 million total viewers for its premiere episode (including the encore) on September 17, 2012. By the end of the season episodes had dropped to about 8.7 million viewers per.

Season 2 stayed around 7.4 million viewers per episode until NBC started messing with the schedule, including switching the timeslot. There were no episodes for several weeks in February, another break in late March, and another break for most of April. By the time the episodes started airing consecutively again through the end of the season there were only around 6 million viewers per episode, including a big drop in the coveted 18-49 age bracket.
