Darrelle Revis, who missed Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh due to a concussion, was cleared for contact Thursday, according to a report on the NFL’s website.
Whether he'll play Sunday, Rex Ryan wouldn’t say for sure, though being cleared for full-contact practice certainly seemed to be a good sign.
“Again, if it’s not the final hurdle I don’t want to say something that isn’t true,” said Ryan. “I’m going to rely on the doctors and the trainers; hopefully he‘ll play but we’ll see.”
Revis actually cleared himself for Sunday, according to a tweet by Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I’m playing Sunday,” said Revis. “I can bang my head on a wall if I want to.”
Without Revis, widely considered the best cornerback in the game, the Jets had trouble stopping Pittsburgh’s passing game on Sunday. Ben Roethlisberger competed 24 of 31 passes for 275 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
