Another Democratic National Committee official has stepped down following a leak of thousands of DNC emails by WikiLeaks.
Jordan Kaplan, the Democratic National Committee finance director, is leaving the DNC, an official told Politico last week. Former Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and several other DNC staffers have also stepped down in the email-related shakeup.
The emails revealed that Wasserman Schultz and other DNC officials were actively strategizing with Hillary Clinton’s campaign against Sen. Bernie Sanders. After Wasserman Schultz’s resignation, Clinton’s campaign made her the “honorary chair” of her 50-state campaign.
Emails belonging to Kaplan were released in the leak, but he didn’t lose his job immediately after they were released.
However, an official confirmed to Politico that “Jordan Kaplan has decided to return to his consulting business full time. He will continue to manage DNC finance events featuring the president and first lady.” The announcement of his departure was made to DNC staff on Friday morning.
