Renee Zellweger, who recently starred in the thriller Case 39, may star in the sequel to the hit comedy Hangover, according to sources close to Zellweger that spoke to the British tabloid The Sun.
The source said that Bradley Cooper, who played the groom’s best bud Phil Wenneck in The Hangover and is also Zellweger’s boyfriend, lobbied to bring Zellweger on board the Hangover sequel.
“Renee loves the first movie and this just gives her and Brad a reason to hang out together on set,” the unnamed source told The Sun.
In The Hangover, three guys go on a wild adventure for the groom’s bachelor party. Zellweger is rumored to play a girl that the three guys, who will return for the sequel, meet during their escapades.
Bradley certainly sees this as a great opportunity to bond with Zellweger, who he says he fancies very much.
“I love acting with her,” he told Entertainment Tonight this past week. “I can’t say enough about her. I just love her.”
