A Redditor and his wife noticed something strange growing on her hand a few years ago and decided to post it.
In 2010, the strange black spots started growing on her hand.
They started small but kept growing bigger and bigger.
Later, they started appearing on other parts on her hand.
Topical creams like wart remover didn’t do anything.
They ended up seeking help from a plastic surgeon.
After the doctor removed the growths, a physician said the bumps are probably pyogenic granuloma.
Pyogenic granuloma can be caused by irritation, physical trauma, or hormonal imbalances. According to the Redditor, her case was likely caused by a switch in her birth control medication.
According to the National Institute of Health, “Pyogenic granulomas are small, raised, and red bumps on the skin. The bumps have a smooth surface and may be moist. They bleed easily because of the high number of blood vessels at the site.”
And it adds: “The exact cause of pyogenic granulomas is unknown. They often appear following an injury on the hands, arms, or face.”
