The hospitalization of Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has caused another show cancellation.
The group canceled an appearance at a California radio station’s annual concert on May 14 and have now cancelled an upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th.
“The Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th,” said in a released statement. “They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of well wishes.”
Kiedis was hospitalized for complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening. The group appeared on stage at KROQ’s Weenie Roast concert but didn’t perform any of their hit songs to the disappointment of fans and band members.
Bass player, Flea told the crowd in Orange County on Saturday that “We are devastated about it, we’re really sad—we love you so much,” the bass player said. “We live to rock. We love to [expletive] get deep into the depths of our hearts, but unfortunately there’s a medical thing that happened and he needed to deal with it.”
