Radiohead is back online, bringing its new song, “Burn The Witch,” and an accompanying music video.
After a rather original stunt of disappearing from the internet on May 1, the band restored its blank website and social media accounts, and after a few Instagram teasers the new song came online.
While the online shenanigans created buzz for the song, and expected subsequent album, there was a digital cost.
The band deleted all of its Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram posts. We were able to access the old tweets via Internet Archive, but we had no luck with the Instagram and Facebook pages.
The marketing tactic has fans discussing the new song and video, while anticipation for Radiohead’s ninth album builds.
On another note, artist and writer Stanley Donwood, longtime creator of Radiohead album and poster art, posted some “behind the scenes” pictures from the music video.
