Designer Colleen Car Bayless walks us through her breezy Southern California look and shows us how she brings it all together. Plus, we get to meet her adorable dog, Rufus!
Collen describes her style as very eclectic: “I would say it’s a mix of bohemian meets tailored, and definitely with a little bit of wild card factor thrown in.” Rather then following one particular style, she “loves the challenge of finding something different and working it within my existing wardrobe.”
Her outfit tells it all. She is wearing a J.Crew denim shirt, custom made skirt; sunglasses are Beach Riot (“always essential when driving in California”) and Birkenstocks sandals. Backpack is vintage Coach from E-bay: “I love the thrill of vintage shopping on E-bay and this was one of my favorite find.”
When it comes to jewelry, Collen likes to keep it minimal. Everyday she’s wearing her mix-match wedding and engagement ring. Her necklace is also something highly personal: “My friend Karma made it for me ... and it’s inscribed with my nickname ‘Bird’, because lot of friends used to call me that. It’s kind of fun.”
As a designer, Colleen has her unique collection of dog collars and leashes called Yark. “I was inspired by Rufus, my Pomeranian.”
