Lead actor in the 2015 Screen Actors Guild award-winning film Birdman, Michael Keaton did not take home the most outstanding actor award. But that’s no skin off his back. Keaton already won four other best actor awards this season for Birdman and one for Beetlejuice in 1989.
Although Keaton garners most accolades for his dark comedy roles, he’s notably also played characters that fit his real persona of an avid newspaper reader. In The Paper, Keaton played a newspaper editor and in Live From Baghdad, he played a journalist.
You can just take a look at Keaton’s Twitter page @MichaelKeaton and see that he often tweets comments about news and politics.
Keaton’s interests range from climate change to President Obama’s State of the Union address, which Keaton called “pretty damn good.” He also thinks Sec. of State John Kerry is “Best sec of state in many years.”
He is known for posting on his Twitter account announcements of photos of newspaper articles he posted on Instagram—eight of such posts in January so far.
In addition to posting an article with a photo of Kerry embracing French President Francois Hollande, Keaton posted articles about climate change, natural gas drilling, methane in the air, unemployment, Canadian pipeline oil, and the death of former Governor Mario Cuomo.
