Prince Charles emergency landing: Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall had to  make an emergency landing 15 minutes after leaving London because of a technical problem.

A spokesman for the couple told the Sun tabloid that “it was quite a hairy experience.” They landed in Buckinghamshire at a aerodrome.

An investigation has been launched into what the trouble with the helicopter was.

Meanwhile, the royal couple transferred to cars and made it to their destination, a literature festival in Hay-on-Wye in Wales, although they were three hours late.

“The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were very determined to get to Hay and carry out their engagements as planned,” said the spokesman.

The couple apologized to hundreds of people who waited to greet them at the festival, according to the Mirror.
