Port Jervis Middle School students in the National Junior Honor Society spent the school year organizing activities to benefit the community. Throughout the 2015-2016 school year, they put together activities including the Teacher Dunk Tank at the Port Jervis Middle School Field Day and a Lip Sync Battle. The students raised $500 altogether, and gave the money to the  Humane Society or Port Jervis and Deerpark on Aug. 5.

The Humane Society serves Port Jervis, Deerpark, and beyond, providing shelter and care for cats, dogs and occasionally other animals in need.
