A giant pig “the size of a mini horse” is loose in the neighborhood, an unusual alert received by the Californian police read on Oct. 13.
Then, the deputies turned to some Doritos they had originally packed for lunch.
“They lured him back home with Doritos one of our deputies had in her lunch bag,” the statement said. “They made a trail and he followed.”
The pig followed all the way to the pen.
“It was fun!” Deputy Ponce said.
“Crime fighting to safely securing a mini horse-sized pig, we do it all!” the statement said.
After questions inundated their Facebook page, the department issued an update.
“The Doritos used to lure the pig back were the Poppin Jalapeños.
“We are unsure of the pig’s name, but our deputies affectionately nicknamed him ‘Smalls.’”
The Facebook post has since received more comments in jest.
“I can also be lured with Doritos,” Pam Miears-Ennis wrote.
“Was the deputy reimbursed for their Doritos?” Erik Yaple asked.
“PIG...Pride Integrity Guts...thank you for your service!” Wendie Harper wrote.
“Thanks for all the love guys! And for taking it easy on us with the pig jokes,” the department commented.
