The PlayStation Network was reportedly hacked and has gone down, according to reports on Sunday.
Update: It was back up hours after the attack.

Sony responded to the apparent cyberattack on its blog.
“Like other major networks around the world, the PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network have been impacted by an attempt to overwhelm our network with artificially high traffic,” it said. “Although this has impacted your ability to access our network and enjoy our services, no personal information has been accessed.”
The company added: “We will continue to work towards fixing this issue and hope to have our services up and running as soon as possible. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.”
Sony Online Entertainment chief John Smedley told USA Today that the network was targeted via a DDOS attack.
A group known as Lizard Squad took responsibility for the attack, the report said. The group has been tweeting about the incident since the network went down.
“Network update: our engineers are aware of the issues and are working to resolve them. We'll keep you posted - sorry for the inconvenience,” PlayStation last tweeted at 12 p.m. ET.
It also appears that the PlayStation Plus free games service is working, as some Twitter users have indicated.
According to reports, the flight that Smedley was on was reportedly diverted due to a bomb threat. His plane--an American Airlines jetliner--was diverted to Phoenix.
The Lizard squad apparently took responsibility for the flight diversion.
