Vick accounted for more than 400 yards of the Eagles offense, running for 80 yards and throwing for 333 yards, completing 20-of-28 passes. He had a passer rating of 150.7.
The Eagles victory on Monday night is the continuation of a streak Vick started when he came in for starting quarterback Kevin Kolb early in the season. Since then, he’s played nearly flawless football, having not once thrown an interception this season.
Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, who was signed to a 5-year $78 million deal on Monday, didn’t have his best game, throwing three interceptions, two touchdowns, and 295 yards, completing 17-of-31 passes.
When Vick starts and plays through an entire game, the Eagles are 4-0.
“I’ve had some great games in my day,” Vick said, according to the Associated Press. “But I don’t think I’ve had one quite like this one.”
Even though there was a 31-point differential, the game felt even more lopsided than that. At the start of the second quarter, the Eagles led 35-0.
“We just got embarrassed, from start to finish,” Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, according to AP. “It’s frustrating to go out there on national TV and play the way we played. Anybody that was watching that game thought it was a joke.”
Even Redskins inside linebacker London Fletcher, a 13-year veteran, said that Vick is playing like an MVP.
“He’s got my MVP vote,” Fletcher said, according to the Washington Post. “I don’t have one, but if I did he definitely would have it because of his ability to extend plays. And the weapons that they have, the offense that they have, he was just ridiculous tonight. He’s the MVP of the league. He still hasn’t thrown an interception.”
