Peter Andre is back on stage following an emergency operation on Friday, with only two shows in his new Arena Tour knocked off schedule.
The star was admitted to hospital very early Friday morning with excruciating abdominal pain. He missed the opening stop for his tour at Plymouth Pavilions on Friday night, which has now been postponed to Dec. 21.
Fortunately, the procedure was a success, according to Andre’s website, and he was released from hospital on Saturday. The cause of the health scare was kidney stones, the Daily Mirror reported.
The performer’s Saturday show at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset, was rescheduled for 12.30 p.m. on Sunday, with all other tour dates unaffected. He cannot dance for the time being, but will put on the “vocal performance of a lifetime,” according to the Daily Mirror.
Andre has not been feeling well for some weeks and was forced to pull out of the Pride of Britain Awards on Nov. 8. Occasional comments on his Twitter page mentioned his health.
“Not been 100% for a couple of days but gotta keep going,” he tweeted on Nov. 10.
In July, the 37-year-old collapsed while jogging, suspecting he had heart problems. He was treated by paramedics but it turned out he had a chest muscle injury. He also had a meningitis scare in 2007.
Andre said on his website that he would like to thank everyone for their support and their messages.
