Person of Interest on CBS has been renewed for a season 4 as the show’s season 3 wraps up.

There’s no set premiere date for season 4 as of yet.

The finale, titled “Deus Ex Machina,” is set to air on May 13.

In the episode, the team taking desperate actions in its race to prevent the malevolent AI program Samaritan from coming online and making them its first targets.

Also, the months-long battle with the anti-surveillance terrorist group Vigilance comes to a shocking conclusion.

“What’s the most chaotic thing that could possibly happen in New York City to bring all these parties together? That’s where we’re headed,” executive producer Greg Plageman told TVGuide.

With the government shutting down its stake in the Machine, the chaos will be harder to predict.

They’ve turned off their one way of dealing with large-scale terrorist attacks,” co-creator Jonathan Nolan said. “When you turn the lights off, nothing good happens out in the dark.”
