A recent survey reports that 20 percent of people feel more outgoing while online. The survey, which sampled over 12,000 people in Canada and 24 other countries, was conducted by Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange.
Nineteen percent of Canadians felt they were more outgoing on the Internet, which is about the same amount as the United States, at 20 percent. However, Canada and the U.S. both had higher percentages than the G8 average, which was only 15 percent. The countries with the most people who felt more social online were generally undeveloped or developing nations, led by China (42 percent), India (34 percent), and Indonesia (32 percent). Hungary, Italy, and Germany were the least outgoing online.
