Paula Abdul, former American Idol judge, is launching a new competition called Live to Dance, which premieres on CBS at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
The 48-year-old Grammy-award-winning recording artist’s all-new dance show attracted dancers from across the country, in its first audition. They “not only have talent, but the drive and passion to push themselves to the top,” according to the show’s website.
The show is open to dancers of all ages, either performing solo or in a group, and all in forms, from ballet and tango to break dance and tap, “or show us something we’ve never seen before with your own unique fusion of styles—rock ballet, hip-hop, clogging, or contemporary mixed with capoeira,” the show stated.
The most talented dancers will perform live on CBS in the semi-finals and finals. The winner of the reality-competition series will receive $500,000.
