Milam continued on to say: “Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG—a $13 billion corporation—intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.”
Walker and Rodas were in a Porsche Carrera GT when Rodas going more than 100 mph and lost control of the luxury car, exploding in Santa Clarita, California, on Nov. 30, 2013.
Porsche has always contended the pair were at fault for the crash. In court documents, Porsche stated the actor’s “death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of [his] own comparative fault.”
Despite this, the widow of Roger Rodas, Kristine Rodas, continued with her lawsuit, claiming the 2005 Carrera GT was “defective.” However, on April 5, U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez, threw out her claim, citing “Plaintiff has provided no competent evidence that Rodas’ death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing on the part of Defendant.”
The ruling for the Rodas hasn’t deterred the Walker family, who will continue their lawsuit against Porsche.
