Pastor John Hagee, who is credited by some for popularizing the term “Blood Moon,” says that the upcoming tetrad (series of blood moons) signals something important.

The first blood moon is slated to appear on April 15 in the early morning and be visible across the United States, followed by one in October; and two others in 2015.

Hagee is the pastor of Cornerstone Church in Texas and author of a book called “Blood Moons: Something is About to Change.”

“Is this the end of the age?” he asked the church in a recent sermon, before quoting a Bible verse that says the moon will turn into blood before the coming of the Lord.

“I believe that the heavens are God’s billboard, that he has been sending signals to planet Earth,” he explained. “God is literally screaming at the world, ‘I’m coming soon.’”

Hagee predicted that the four eclipses were signaling a “world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015.”

I“ believe that the heavens are God’s billboard, that He has been sending signals to planet Earth, and we just haven’t been picking them up,” he added.

Hagee also told Fox News in an interview that the blood moons don’t signal the coming of the “end times,” because we’ve been in those times for about 2,00 years.

He also said that any change brought about by the series of blood moons will impact Israel, noting three previous dates (the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492; the years after Israel was declared a nation-state in 1949-1950; and the Six-Day War in 1967).

“Each time it has gone from tragedy to triumph,” said Hagee.

Hagee made waves two years ago when he questioned whether 2012 “could be the end of the world as we know it.”
