For the love of the tradition, British craftsman Jeremy Atkinson has dedicated his life to clog making.
He is now the very last traditional maker of bespoke clogs in England, keeping the art alive. Fortunately, a young apprentice has joined him recently to learn all the tricks of the trade of handmade clog making, which became popular in the UK during the Industrial revolution.
Jeremy’s story is part of a beautiful series “The Tale of Forgotten Crafts,” where filmmaker Duncan Parker revives hand-crafting as a forgotten trade of a our culture.
Blacksmith, basket maker or even hedge layer are among those included in his series of forgotten crafts.
