The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for the cities of Ashland and Medina as well as Portage, Stark, Lorain, and Wayne counties in northern Ohio on Wednesday.
The warnings for Ashland, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Wayne will last until 4:30 p.m. EDT, according to the agency.
The agency said that warnings in Portage and Stark counties will remain in effect until 5:0 p.m.
Lorain County in Ohio also is under the tornado warning, according to the agency.
The Weather Service recommends that locals should take cover in a room without winds in the floor-level of a sturdy building.
The warnings come amid reports that a train derailed due to high winds in the town of Melbern.
Officials believe it was derailed due to high winds. There were no injuries.
