A 15-year-old Vermilion Township teenager died on April 19 due to an experiment gone wrong.
Erie County deputies reported that the teen, who was later identified as Morgan Wojciechowski, got electrocuted while attempting to conduct an experiment called “Jacob’s Ladder”—which is when high-voltage electricity travels between points.
The teen saw the experiment on YouTube and tried it in his garage, Erie County Chief Deputy Jared Oliver said.
His family was home at the time.
According to The Sandusky Register, authorities were called to the teen’s home on W. Lake Road in Vermillion Township at around 6 p.m.
Emergency crews came and took Wojciechowski, who attended Vermilion High School, to Lorain Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
