NEW YORK—Air Force One touched down in Albany on Tuesday morning, bringing President Barack Obama in for a quick two and a half hour visit to the state capital.

The president, on his third trip to the capital region since he took office, toured Albany NanoTech Complex at the State University of New York, which the state heavily invested in last September. A total of $4.4 billion over five years was awarded to four sites in the state, one of which was NanoTech, in an effort to stimulate the tech sector.

The president gave a 20-minute speech in which he praised the economic growth.

“Now I want what’s happening in Albany to happen all across the country, places like Cleveland and Pittsburgh and Raleigh,” he said, according to AP. “I want to create more opportunities for hardworking Americans to start making things again, and selling them all over the world stamped with those proud words: Made in America.”

Gov. Andrew Cuomo warmly introduced the president, according to AP, and said, “With your help New York is just not building back to where we were before the recession. We are building back to a better, stronger, and safer place than this state has ever been before.”

President Obama also gave Congress a to-do list of five action items needed to improve the economy.
