Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ from the Globe Theatre
From London to the Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, the Globe Theatre will screen a pre-recorded production of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “As You Like It” on Monday, June 13, at 7 p.m. The Globe was created in 1997 to mimic the original theater where Shakespeare’s plays were first performed in the 17th century. The play’s story follows Rosalind, the daughter of a banished duke, who falls in love with Orlando and is meanwhile banished by her power hungry uncle. The performance is 2 hours and 28 minutes.

The Choral Mix Live: Brahms in Love & Loss
Members from nine New York choirs join their voices for a special performance of Johannes Brahms’s “Love Song Waltzes” at WNYC’s Greene Space, in Lower Manhattan, on Tuesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. The performance, conducted by Kent Tritle, will be broadcast live on the Choral Mix on WQXR. The performance will be 1 hour and 5 minutes and includes a glass of wine.

Twelve-foot Community Flag to Commemorate 9/11
Artist Muriel Stockdale will begin creating a 12-foot-wide community flag commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Tuesday, June 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Charlotte’s Place in Lower Manhattan. The community is invited to contribute by bringing cloth to be used in assembling the memorial, expected to be completed by August. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a wine and cheese party with Stockdale as she discusses “E Pluribus,” her United States flag series.

Museum Mile Festival
For three splendid hours, nine of the country’s most noted museums will open their doors to the public during the 33rd annual Museum Mile Festival on Tuesday, June 14, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fifth Avenue will be closed off to traffic from 82nd Street to 105 Street and filled with museum goers, live entertainment, and art in the street for kids. Recommended museums to check out along the mile include the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, the Museum of the City of New York, and a table at 105th Street for the not yet opened Museum of African Arts.
