A Concert for New York
On the eve of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the New York Philharmonic will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection” on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m. Titled “A Concert for New York,” the performance will feature soprano Dorothea Röschmann, mezzo soprano Michelle DeYoung, and New York Choral Artists. Tickets will be distributed one pair per person beginning at 4 p.m. on the Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center on the day of the concert. There will be additional seating on the plaza for the live projection of the concert. The “Concert for New York” will be broadcast live on 105.9 Classical WQXR.

Bolshoi Ballet: ‘Coppelia’ in HD
The internationally renowned Bolshoi Ballet of Russia will have its live performance of the ballet “Coppelia” aired at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. With music composed by Leo Delibes, the ballet tells the story of a doll brought to life. “Blending folk dance with classical ballet and romance with humor, this charming tale is just as intriguing and fanciful as it was in 1870,” says BAM. The ballet is recorded live at the Bolshoi Theater and re-aired at BAM. Original choreography by Marius Petipa recreated by Sergei Vikharev. The performance is 2 hours and 28 minutes with two intermissions.

Ecofest
An environmental event where people can get information, find products, and be entertained by people who care about the environment, Ecofest will be held at the USS Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum on Sunday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. A main attraction will be the SEOTO (Sources of Energy Other Than Oil) Alternative Fuels Display demonstrating a variety of alternative-energy vehicles. There will also be an Ecofashion Show with clothes made of 100 percent organic and recycled material. The museum is located at Pier 86 on the Hudson River, near 46th Street.

Mario the Magician
A vaudeville-style children’s entertainer, Mario the Magician will give an interactive performance at Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. Mario, who has appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” performs a variety of magic tricks meant to foster creativity. His performance is accompanied by the four-piece Sleight of Hand Band. The event is followed by a Q&A with Mario.
