The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) continues to address roadway maintenance across the five boroughs following the winter season with the resurfacing of key portions of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) that will provide a smoother roadway for drivers.
Two eastbound lanes will be closed between Humboldt St. and the Kosciuszko Bridge overnight Saturday morning; westbound work will follow next week as the city begins seasonal pothole repairs starting in the evening of March 10, 2014.
Through Saturday morning of March 15, two of the three eastbound lanes between Humboldt Street and the Kosciuszko Bridge will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Work on the westbound portion of the same road will begin on Monday evening, March 17 at 9 p.m.
Motorist are urged to use alternative routes.
DOT has already addressed more than 197,815 potholes citywide this year, including over 65,000 on arterial roads like the BQE.
