NTD Television, The Epoch Times’ sister media, has joined forces with several of Canada’s best comedians to create “A Little Sketchy,” a 30-minute comedy show that blends satirical shots at world news with sketches, commercial spoofs, interviews, and a myriad of offbeat green screen pieces. The show is hosted by comedian Jean Paul, backed up with a talented cast of other Canadian comedy headliners Rob Pue, Shannon Laverty, and Chuck Byrn.

The show came about during a meeting between NTD Canada’s President Joe Wang, former Senior Vice President at 20th Century Fox Television Mike McLaughlin, and Home Invasion Studio’s founder and CEO David Merry while working on their upcoming movie “Switched at Death.” Wang asked for a fast-paced, English-speaking comedy show on his network that looks and feels different than other shows on broadcast television. “It needs to be funny in three different markets and has to move along at a pace capable of keeping viewer’s attention.” Two senior comedy writers and segment producers were immediately hired, Tim Steeves and George Westerholm, with Ian Sirota being added later.

The cast, writers, and producers bring 7 Gemini award wins and nominations, 8 Canadian Screen Award wins and nominations, 17 Canadian Comedy Award wins and nominations, an International Emmy nomination, and a Rose D’Or award for excellence in comedy writing.

This new primetime show can be seen on NTD in Canada & the United States at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT Saturdays and Sky TV in the UK at 8:00 p.m. on Sundays. It’s also available on demand on EpochTV.
