Nikki Haley’s been named by some as a possible Donald Trump running mate, but she distanced herself from the Republican frontrunner this week when she questioned Chris Christie’s endorsement of Trump.

“Chris is a dear friend, but none of us understands why he did this,” the South Carolina governor said during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.

Christie appeared with Trump late last week to give the business mogul one his highest-profile endorsements yet.

Haley’s comments come shortly after speculation on who Trump would choose as his running mate included her.

If that scenario played out, it would be a complete about-face following her comments on Trump. Besides questioning Christie’s endorsement, she slammed Trump by saying: “Donald Trump is everything we hear and teach our kids not to do in kindergarten.”

She added that the thought of Trump winning the GOP nomination is “scary,” because it will throw the entire party for a loop and “make us question who we are and what we’re about.”

“Donald Trump is one who goes after project after project after project,” Haley said, before listing multiple ventures that were no longer successful, such as Trump University and Trump Vodka, reported the New York Post and Politico. “Every single one of them has failed and now he wants to run for president? This is not a game.”

“We saw and looked at true hate in the eyes last year in Charleston. I will not stop until we fight a man that chooses not to disavow the KKK,” she added. “That is not a part of our party. That is not who we want as president.”
