During her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, rapper Nicki Minaj was going to pull out a real anaconda on stage to help with her dance routine for “Anaconda,” her latest single.
The star, however, said that one of the dancers was bitten by the snake during rehearsals, TMZ reported.
The dance routine was then axed and they got rid of the snake.
When Minaj was leaving the nightclub Project LA, she admitted that the performance would have been better with the anaconda.
“[The dancer] is fine, she recovered and she performed today. She’s a trooper and I love her,” Minaj said.
Minaj opened the MTV VMAs on Sunday, August 24, 2014, alongside Ariana Grande and Jessie J. After all three of them performed snippets of their latest singles, they teamed up to debut their new collaborated track “Bang, Bang.”
