Good morning, and thanks for checking in with The Epoch Times News Brief for Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. It’s the second day of a brand new year, I’m Bill Thomas and because the News Brief crew was hard at work yesterday, New Year’s Day, we’re taking the day off today, but we’ll join you again tomorrow for the Friday edition of The Epoch Times News Brief.
Now, the world is changing rapidly day by day, and we appreciate you trusting us to keep you updated regarding significant events happening nationally and globally, which have a direct impact on your life.
The new year is off to a very busy start, there’s already so much going on, and here’s a brief look at some of the stories we’ll be following in the next several days and weeks.
The state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter begins this Saturday; the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump will be held in Washington on Jan. 20; and we’ll all be waiting to see what the new administration does in regards to Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine.
Also, with the new year underway, we’re all keeping a close eye on the markets, and everybody’s looking forward to Super Bowl 59, which takes place in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
For all of us here at The Epoch Times News Brief, I’m Bill Thomas.
The Epoch Times News Brief program is written each day by David Ross.
Thank you for making us your one-stop source for a concise, accurate, and unbiased daily synopsis of many of the news stories you need to know about.
Enjoy the remainder of your day, and we’ll see you right back here tomorrow for the Friday edition of The Epoch Times News Brief.
For now, let’s all continue to watch out for one another, have an absolutely superb day today, and bye for now.
