Nicole Merna, 18, Student
“I am pretty happy because otherwise I couldn’t go anywhere and I would be stuck inside, I live in a dorm at F.I.T., so I am pretty happy that it isn’t as much snow–plus I hate the cold. Also I don’t have snow boots so I wouldn’t be able to walk around. Class was canceled today so I decided to take a walk around the city.”
Juan Rivera, 50, Custodian
“I am happy that it didn’t happen, because I have to shovel the snow in my truck, it is a lot of shoveling that needs to be done in the city. I live in Staten Island, I drove here last night to start, so I am glad it wasn’t as bad.”
Marcia Alves, 53, Tourist from Brazil
“I love the snow, we are from Brazil visiting New York and it is always hot, too hot in Brazil, so we have been walking around New York in the snow and we love it. Even if there was a big blizzard we still would be walking around in it. We are now on our way to see Central Park covered in snow and we are really excited about that.”
Shahzad Ahmad, 39, Tourist from Pakistan, business owner
“I don’t mind it all because I live in Pakistan and where I live it is very hot so I think that the snow is very wonderful. I am glad it wasn’t too bad because otherwise it would be too difficult for me to walk around and go sight seeing. I think it is very beautiful when they city is full of snow but I am glad transportation is working.”
Yvonne Shih, 25, Student
“I am happy because it is like a holiday for me today since I didn’t have to go to work. And since it didn’t snow that much I decided to go out shopping.”
Lloyd Parsons 59, 34 Street Partnership
“I am so glad it didn’t snow as much as they said it would because otherwise I would have a lot more work to do since I have to shovel all the snow.”
