UPDATE: Service has been restored with extensive delays.
NEW YORK—The Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down service between 59th and 125th Street stations due to a power failure at the 81st Street station.
At 10:01 a.m., the MTA extended the service outage up to Brighton Beach on the B line and up to Euclid Ave. on the C line.
A spokesperson with the MTA said that no estimate is available for when the service will be restored. The power failure is affecting signals, the spokesperson added.
