The Kit, a free digital magazine devoted to all things style-related in Canada, has launched its new website, TheKit.ca. Building on the success of the magazine’s inaugural year, the site will serve as a hub of up-to-date information on the latest tips, trends, advice, and product reviews.
“We all would love to have a personal stylist at our disposal. With daily tips, product reviews and advice on everything from shoes to hair, The Kit is your stylist on demand,” says Giorgina Bigioni, publisher of The Kit.
On Sept. 8, The Kit released its first print feature which will appear weekly in select copies of the Toronto Star along with select distribution in Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal starting in October.
This will also mark the magazine’s foray into fashion coverage, alongside existing beauty news and views.
“Whether readers visit TheKit.ca, interact with the digital magazine, or read the print section in their local paper, The Kit will be anchored by the eight pillars of clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, face, hair, body, and wellness,” a press release states.
“The Kit’s editorial team is dedicated to women’s lifestyle journalism. They do the research to provide readers with the insider details on how to feel beautiful inside and out.”
The team of eight includes Janine Falcon, former beauty editor at Canadian Living magazine and creator of the award-winning blog BeautyGeeks; Chantel Simmons, author and former director of Sweetspot.ca and publisher and editor-in-chief of Elevate; and Deborah Fulsong, who was a style editor at Chatelaine, fashion and deputy style editor at The Globe and Mail, and style editor at Flare magazine.
The Kit’s editor is Doug Wallace, who spent the bulk of the past decade working in the lifestyle magazine world as deputy editor of Wish, an award-winning women’s lifestyle guide. He was previously executive editor of Fashion and Fashion18 magazines.
“Our team is working hard to make sure Canadian women are looking and feeling their best,” says Bigioni.
