Neil Diamond, one of the most successful singer-songwriters of the past four decades, will release his new album on Nov. 2.

The album, titled “Dreams” will be a collection of covers of his favorite songs from the past rock era, such as “Ain’t No Sunshine,” a song from Bill Withers’s album “Just As I Am” and “A Song for You,” written and performed by rock singer Leon Russell in the 1970s.

The album will include a total of 14 tracks.

“You never know how long you’ve got and a lot of these songs have been waiting for me to record them for 40 years,” the singer said.

Diamond will perform tracks from the new album live for the first time in the Roundhouse in London on Nov. 13, according to his official website. The performance, titled 2 Electric Proms: Neil Diamond, will be broadcast by BBC.

The 69-year-old rock singer was also recently nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2011 along with Alice Cooper, Chuck Willis and many others.
