With the NCIS Los Angeles Season 5 nearing its end, there’s no doubt that fans are looking forward to the upcoming season of the CBS crime drama.
In the season’s finale, which will air on CBS on May 13 at 9 p.m., fans can expect an “out of control” nail-biting cliffhanger, according to the show’s executive producer Shane Brennan. The episode will feature Callen and Sam “in extreme jeopardy in a place that they’ve never been, and in a situation that appears almost insurmountable for them,” Brennan told TV Guide.
The finale, “Deep Trouble,” will have the DEA uncover a cartel plan’s to transport billions of dollars worth of cocaine from Columbia to the U.S. via a submarine. Callen and Sam will be in charge of locating the missing vessel.
The duo won’t be able to ask Hetty for help because she’s dealing with a fallout of her decision to send Kensi to Afghanistan, and will have to go to Washington.
“The White Ghost has come back to haunt [Hetty] in the finale, and in a very, very bad way,” Brennan said. Things will also get awkward between Deeks and Kensi when DEA agent Talia returns, only to have a unwelcoming introduction with Kensi.
NCIS Los Angeles was renewed for Season 6, according to CBS.
