NEW YORK—In his first ever visit to the United Nations General Assembly, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddaffi spoke in a long and disjointed speech touching on topics from swine flu to conspiracies regarding the assassination of John F. Kennedy, to calling the U.N. Security Council the “terror council.”

“It shouldn’t be called the Security Council, it should be called the Terror Council,” in a translation of the speech provided by BBC news about Muammar Gaddafi’s reference to the United Nations Security Council.

Gaddafi is abhorred by most here in the United States and amongst western nations due to his ties with terrorists.

Gaddafi has had long established ties with several terrorist groups, and has been deemed responsible for the Pan Am flight 103 bombing in 1988.

Despite Gaddafi’s 2008 $1.5 billion pledge to a fund dedicated to the family members of PanAm flight 103, he extended a personal welcome to terrorist bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.

Al Megrahi had been convicted for his involvement in the bombing, yet released several months ago by the Scottish government after being diagnosed with terminal caner. The incident elevated tensions and dislike for Gaddafi.

Pitch a Tent

Gaddafi, who is known for pitching a large and extravagant tent to live in during foreign travels was suspected to be staying on a property of Donald Trump’s in Bedford, New York.

A spokesperson for Trump responded to the Associated Press, stating that a portion of Trump property “was leased on a short-term basis to Middle Eastern partners, who may or may not have a relationship to Mr. Gadhafi.”

A stop-work order was issued today due to a lack of a proper permit for the tent.
