A woman who fled to Mexico with her 4-year-old daughter has been sentenced to six years in prison for kidnapping.
Dara Llorens was sentenced on March 30 in a state district court in Austin, Texas after pleading guilty to aggravated kidnapping and interfering with child custody last December.
She was on the run for 12 years after the girl’s father was granted custody of the child.
Llorens’ daughter, Sabrina Allen, was reported missing by her father in 2002 after she disappeared following a weekend visit with her mother.
Allen was twice profiled on the television show “America’s Most Wanted.”
Llorens must serve two years before becoming eligible for parole.
A tip led the FBI and Mexican authorities to Llorens and Allen, then 17, near Mexico City on Sept. 30, 2014.
Once found, the mother-and-daughter were flown back to Texas and Llorens was jailed on felony charges.
The daughter, now 18, is with her father.
