On April 13 night a police officer in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, spotted a man on a moped that “was missing a registration sticker and the driver was not sitting on it properly,” according to the PoliceActivity Youtube channel.
The officer tried to stop the driver, but the moped man instead sped—or at least took off.
It is not clear whether the man was drunk or he really believed he could outrun a police car on a moped.
In the video he can be seen leading the police cruiser on a leisurely-paced chase that spans about 4 blocks.
The rider then, in a mildly dramatic twist, leaves the road and continues on grass for a short while with the police car in tow, until finally tumbling while attempting to cross some train tracks.
“The officer was able to catch up to the 26-year-old Mt. Pleasant man,” PoliceActivity stated in the video’s description. “He was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license, among others.”
